A Panchayat is a collective body of elected representatives responsible for managing the administrative affairs of Panchayat Raj Institutions. For a Grama Panchayat, it is the primary committee that implements the decisions of the Grama Sabha and handles day-to-day administration.The key components of a Panchayat are:President: The head of the Panchayat. They preside over meetings and oversee the overall activities of the Panchayat.Vice President: Discharges the duties and responsibilities in the absence of the President.Ward Members: Elected representatives from each individual ward of the Panchayat.Standing Committees: These are sub-committees formed to streamline decision-making in specific areas such as Finance, Development, Welfare, Health, and Education.
